Return of the faggots!

Andy at Gill Wing has been concocting some fantastic faggots for us this week. Traditionally British and made up of offal, pork liver, onions and seasoning, faggots are easy and delicious to fry up quickly or roast. Also known as 'savoury ducks' in the Midlands and North of England. The word ultimately derives from the Greek phakelos meaning 'bundle'. A faggot was a bundle of sticks used for firewood, and it is thought that this led to the dish being named after a bundle of offal. Although traditionally a peasant dish that gained popularity in World War II, faggots still remain a real treat when served up with mash and peas in the cold weather. So we’re putting the retro product back on our shelves for you to enjoy.
